Sweet Pudala


  • 1-cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-tsp. poppy seeds
  • 3-4 cardamom powder
  • Ghee
  • 100 grams brown sugar


In a vessel, take about 3/4 cup water and dissolve sugar and brown sugar. Stir until they dissolve.

Shift the wheat flour. Mix poppy seeds and cardamom powder. Mix the flour in the sugar-liquid slowly and with continuous stirring.

Add more water if needed to make the batter. Heat a griddle. Spread the pudala (like thin pancake) on the griddle. Spread ghee on the sides. Turn the pudala on the other side. Fry until brown on both sides. Serve warm.
