SAMBHAR


 

INGREDIENTS:

500 grams tuver dal      100 grams cucumber

100 grams tomatoes      100 grams drumsticks

1-tbsp. sambhar powder      3-4 green chilies

curry leaves      1/2-tsp. turmeric powder

salt      1/2tsp mustard seeds

1-tbsp. Oil      1/4 cup tamarind

2tsp brown sugar (brown sugar)      50 grams urad dal

50 grams chana dal      5 red chilies

50 grams grated coconut      1-tsp. fenugreek seeds

1-tbsp. coriander seeds      1/2-tsp. cumin seeds

7-cloves      3-4 cinnamon

2-tsp. green chilly paste.

 

 

PREPARATION:

Mix all dals, wash in warm water, add water and pressure cook. Do not beat. Heat the oil in a pot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves. Sauté the ground masala paste and stir. Add tomato pulp and tamarind water. Mix and add dal, salt, turmeric, and drumstick pieces. Boil and add the brown sugar.
